The main reason I built Summerfield was to have a layout that I could run my collection of Australian Trains.
I also still have some European models, which so far have not operated on the layout, but if the Flying Scotsman can come to Australia, so too can a Prussian 4-6-0 or a German 01 class Express locomotive, so who knows what the future holds.
Most of my locomotives have been purchased ready to run over many years, brands include Auscision, Austrains, Lima, Powerline and TrainOramma.
Most of the Lima models have been repowered using Athearn SD9 mechs or Proto2000 mechs. I started a repowering program a few years back which also included the fitting of a DCC decoder and around 15 Lima locomotives have so far been completed. Some are being phased out as newer models are introduced. A few Powerline locomotives have also been repowered.
The following classes are available for use on the layout.
I thought they only built 10 C class Locomotives!!!!!
