Welcome to the Summerfield Website
Summerfield is the name of my model railway, based on Victorian & Australian prototype.
The model railway is still under construction and is still far from complete.
This layout is not for the rivet counter or for those who believe in strict prototype.
I love running all types of Australian trains so I wanted a layout that would allow me to do this, so with this in mind Summerfield has evolved. Summerfield has it's own history, that justifies what runs on the layout.
I do hope you enjoy your visit to Summerfield and come back to see what progress has been made.
Please feel free to email me if you have any comments or questions about the layout or the website.
Cheers.............Eugene
The Victorian Railways takes delivery of it's latest locomotive...................The VR's NR 1
The boys at Summerfield have been busy once again. The Summerfields shunter known by railway men as "mini B" tows the latest locomotive for the Victorian Railways out of the workshops.

Undergoing Light engine trials through Summerfield

Undergoing it's first revenue run hauling the Spirit of Progress through Summerfield
Not a great deal happening on the layout at the moment, spending most spare time working on rolling stock kits, but for a bit of fun have come up with a good way of using up those old Lima S class bodies no one wants anymore.
All in the name of fun............

The boys at Summerfield workshops have been busy, just out the Spray Booth is this creation, The Locomotive is a "Cs" Class. The workshop boys are quite proud of this creation. After successful running trials they are about to commence work on a second unit.

A view of Cs5 undergoing lite engine trials in company with C507, passing through Summerfield Station.

Cs5 on it's first passenger revenue run approaching Summerfield Station

This loco is known as "mini B" and is the Summerfield Shunter. It is made up from 2 Lima S class noses, and is fitted to an Austrains C class bogie, powered by a Trainorama motor. Mini B is actually quite a powerful little fellow, hauling 7 coach trains around the layout with ease. It has been fitted with DCC, and lights etc. Oh ye and the roof fans are from an Austrains C class.
Remember it's all in the name of fun....................
